Miami vs. Boston College: Injury Reports

The Miami football team enters the final regular season game of the 2023 season without any new significant injuries per Team Rankings. Boston College also seems to be relatively healthy for Senior Day in Chestnut Hill. Miami is expected to have oft-injured tight end Elijah Arroyo back on Friday.

Arroyo has been limited by injuries in each of the last two seasons. The official Miami football website lists Arroyo with four appearances this season. Arroyo has not recorded a reception in 2023. Miami TEs Cam McCormick, Riley Williams and Jaleel Skinner have combined for only 12 receptions for 107 yards in 2023.

Running back Ajay Allen is listed as questionable with what Team Rankings called an “unknown ailment.”  Allen has not played in the past three games. It is possible that Allen has just lost carries recently. Mark Fletcher has asserted himself as the primary Miami RB. Fletcher had 17 of the 26 Miami carries last week.

All of the other players listed on the Miami injury report are players out for the season. Miami will be without defensive linemen Akheem Mesidor and Nyjalik Kelly, offensive lineman Samson Okunlola, quarterback Emory Williams and RB Tre’Vonte Citizen who have all suffered season-ending injuries this year.

Boston College has lost linebacker Jaylen Blackwell, defensive end Shitta Sillah, TE George Takacs, wide receiver Ryan O’Keefe and RB Pat Garwo III with season-ending injuries. Garwo’s status was updated by Team Rankings on November 6 and the other four were updated on November 13.

Garwo was the most significant loss of the players listed with 52 carries for 270 yards and one touchdown and four receptions for 19 yards this season. O’Keefe had five carries for 40 yards and a TD and 23 carries for 235 yards and a TD. Takacs had six receptions for 64 yards and one TD.

Blackwell had 11 tackles this season. Sillah had 14 tackles, 3.0 tackles for loss and two sacks. Boston College and Miami enter the game on Friday struggling. The Eagles have lost their last two games after a five-game winning streak. Miami has lost its last two and five of the last seven games entering Friday.
