Miami vs. FAMU: 3 Things 2 Watch 4

For the first time in the Mario Cristobal era, Miami will host FAMU at Hard Rock. Here’s what CT will be keeping a close eye on today.

Kickoff: 6 pm EST
TV: ACC Network+ & ESPN+
Line: Miami -44.5

Miami Third Down Defense

In the game against Florida, Miami’s defense performed admirably. They came through when it mattered most, dominating the Gators’ offense. It’s important for us to replicate that same level of performance in today’s game. The Gators only managed to convert 1-out-of-9 third-down attempts.

Get Pressure early

In this year’s season opener, the Miami defensive line needs to dominate in the trenches. The Hurricanes are up against a weaker opponent in FAMU although the Rattlers have one of the best offensive lines in HBCU, the Hurricanes’ defensive line seems to be too much for the Rattlers. We need to hit them in the mouth early so we can play our rotational starters in the second/third quarter.

JoJo Trader

After standing out in fall camp, JoJo Trader didn’t play against the Gators. It’s unclear why, but giving him some playing time this game today presents a great opportunity for him to get some reps.

Miami does not like to release their depth chart until game time so we will see if he will be on the depth chart.
