Miami vs. Georgia: Odds, How to Watch

Today, your University of Miami Hurricanes (3-0) take on the Georgia Bulldogs (2-1) at Baha Mar Convention Center.

Tip-off for the 1st game of the Bahamas Championship is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. ET (CBS Sports Network). Below, we analyze FanDuel Sportsbook around the Georgia vs. Miami odds, and make our expert college basketball picks, predictions and best bets.

Georgia is in its 2nd year under coach Mike White and looks to build off a 16-16 season. The Bulldogs have won 2 straight after losing their opener to Oregon 82-71 as 6-point underdogs.

Miami, which is No. 12 in the USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll, came close to suffering a brutally-bad upset this week against Florida International. The Hurricanes were hurt on the boards and were outscored 24-2 on 2nd-chance points as the 23-point favorites won 86-80. G Matthew Cleveland, a transfer from Florida State, scored a career-high 23 points.

For the Bulldogs to pull off the upset, they’ll have to crash the boards and outhustle the Canes. For Georgia it can start with their big man — 7-foot C Russel Tchewa, who has a huge size advantage on Miami’s skilled center, Norchad Omier.

Georgia at Miami picks and predictions

Prediction
Miami 84, Georgia 74

Moneyline
PASS.

Miami (-225) is suddenly a basketball school and certainly worth a look this season. But not this day at this price. The Canes have been exposed due to their lack in size, but G Nijel Pack, averaging 12 points and nearly 6 assists, has been making plays while G Bensley Joseph is at 14 points per game after averaging 5.3 last season.

Against the spread
MIAMI -6.5 (-105).

Taking into consideration Georgia’s advantage on the glass, plus fresh faces in freshman G Silas Demary (9.3 PPG) and Illinois transfer, RJ Melendez (8.3 PPG), White is building a solid foundation at a program that went just 6-26 prior to him taking the helm. I expect Georgia to hang around in the 1st half, but the Canes have too much offensive firepower for the Bulldogs to deal with.
