Miami vs. Virginia: CanesToday Prediction

Miami vs. Virginia: CanesToday Prediction

Good afternoon and good Friday Canes Today readers. You know what tomorrow is right? It is Virginia Week. The Clemson game is now behind us. Tomorrow is all about getting back to work, regrouping and refocusing as Miami Football starts Week 9 of its college football season, (man has it flown by). Miami needs to win this game to keep their conference championship hopes alive, The Virginia Cavaliers are coming into this game HOT, unless if you were living under a rock this past Saturday Virginia had probably the biggest upset in Week 8, the Cavaliers came into Kenan Memorial Stadium, and beat the Tarheels 31-27 snapping the Tarheels winning streak. The Cavaliers come to town being underdogs, as much of us expected. Before a 3:30 p.m kickoff in Hard Rock let’s get you ready for this game in Miami Gardens.

According to the DraftKing Sportsbooks, Miami has opened as a 18.5-point favorite against the Cavaliers with the over/under set at 49.5. Virginia is coming off a tough fought 31-27 win against North Carolina last Saturday while the Hurricanes beat the Clemson Tigers 28-20. Kickoff at Hard Rock is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 28 at 3:30 p.m. EST on ACCN.

Looking at ESPN’s Matchup Predictor, the analytics are giving the ‘Canes a 91.4 percent chance to beat Virginia.

Miami showed incredible focus and performance against Clemson. That will need to continue next week (and every week, please) as the season continues.

Who will prevail? It’s time for the CT owner Trinton Breeze to share his predictions.

Last week’s win versus Clemson was a relief, as Miami avoided a three game slide that surely would’ve derailed a promising season. Now with Tyler Van Dyke expected back after Emory Williams helped lead the team the victory, the offense should be able to push downfield more willingly.

While the spreads in Vegas see this as a cake walk game for Miami, it can’t be overlooked that Virginia took down North Carolina this past week. As long as Miami can stay on the positive side of the turnover differential, there shouldn’t be many problems.

Expect a run-heavy attack by Miami, and the Hurricanes defense to be flying across the field forcing turnovers. I don’t see a massive blowout, but Miami will play this game conservatively come the second half.
