Miami WBB transfer, Shayeann Day-Wilson, announce decision

On Monday, former Miami WBB guard Shayeann Day-Wilson announced that she is transferring to LSU. 

As a freshman, Day-Wilson was the ACC Freshman of the year, averaging 11.9 points, 3.5 assists, and 2.7 rebounds on 41.4 percent shooting and 36.8 percent from 3-point range. After a dip her sophomore season, the Ontario, Canada native went to Miami and posted career high numbers in every statistical category with 12.7 points, 3.7 assists, and 1.2 steals.

The talented point guard also plays for her country, helping lead the Canadian U23 Women’s National Team to the gold medal at the inaugural GLOBLJAM international basketball showcase, averaging 16 points, 5.4 assists, 3.2 rebounds and 1.6 steals per game on the way to a 5-0 record in 2021
