Official Visit Preview: Miami Loads Up On Big Recruiting Weekend Today

The month of June kicked off with a half-dozen official visitors on the Miami campus. It resulted in the commitment of CB Timothy Merritt, and he might not be the only player they locked up from that eventful first weekend.

Miami is hosting nine prospects on campus today so lets get into it.

Miami Commits

Before the recruiting calendar was expedited and most official visits were moved to the month of June, the biggest official visit weekends of the year were a week or two before signing day. Coaches paired their top targets with large groups of committed players to build a sense of camaraderie to help seal the deal. Miami is taking a similar approach this summer by bringing future Canes who are solid in their commitment to campus along with some of their top targets.

RB Girard Pringle Jr. will be back in for an official visit after coming off of an unofficial to Miami. This will be a good time and see if the Hurricanes can do enough to shut down his recruitment like Miami Hurricanes 2025 quarterback commit Luke Nickel did yesterday.

Rest Of The Expected Visitors

  • Five-star safety DJ Pickett
  • Four-star wide receiver Dallas Wilson (Oregon commit)
  • Four-star defensive line Myron Charles
  • Four-star cornerback Chris Ewald
  • Three-star inside offensive lineman Max Buchanan
  • Four-star cornerback Atari Wallace
  • Three-star inside offensive lineman Isaac Sowells
  • Three-star offensive tackle Demetrius Manning

Storylines To Watch For

One more swing at DJ Pickett

This weekend’s headliner is five-star defensive back DJ Pickett Miami has had the Tampa, (FL) native circled as a priority target for years at this point. On top of that, defensive back Addae is taking the head lead in his recruitment. The Hurricanes got him on campus for an unofficial and now he returns for his official visit.

Pair of offensive lineman in town

For the second straight weekend, Alex Mirabel will have a pair of targets in town. Isaac Sowells and Demetri Manning are both three-star offensive linemen that will be visiting the university of Miami tomorrow and this will be a great time for Miami to make up some great ground on them.

Can Miami gain momentum on Dallas Wilson

Dallas Wilson has been a Oregon pledge since January 2023, but Miami has remained in the mix to flip him. Wilson has a really good relationship with Miami wide reciter coach Kevin Beard. Addition to his Miami visit, Wilson will also visit Oregon, and Florida State ahead of Miami. This official visit will be huge to gain momentum on his recruitment and maybe pull a stunner in getting a commitment from him.
