OPINON: Miami football will dominate the Florida Gators rushing attack offense

Miami has one of the scariest defenses out there, and going up against the Florida Gators’ run-first offense, I think we can stop their run game and take their run-first offense out of the game.

Here is why. The Florida Gators rushing attack is their first choice to go to, even though the stat line does not look good for them as they rushed for 149.5 yards per game which that ranks as the 138th best in country, it still will be a scary rushing attack if they Hurricanes do not stuff the run, but I think we do.

The Gators lost one of their best running with Trevor Etienne leaving to go to the Georgia Bulldogs. However with him leaving he was not the leading rusher at 800 yards on the season. More than likely there starting running back once the Hurricanes kick off against the Gators will be Montrell Johnson.

Their expected starting running back Montrell Johnson went down in the fall with a injury and is not expected to play this week when the Hurricanes play the Gators this Saturday. In Johnson’s career he totalled for 2,496 rushing yards and 27 touchdowns, eclipsing 800 yards and 5.2 yards per carry in each of his three seasons.

So, the Gators got to rely on Treyaun Webb or Ja’Kobi Jackson which both have been impressive in the fall camp.

Miami’s rushing attack defense was top of the top run stopping defenses in America and the No. 2 run stopping defense in the ACC behind Louisville. Miami ranked as the No. 11 best run stopping defines in the 2023 stat line which they only allowed 105.6 yards per game and 3.3 yards per carry.

For example, Miami played Georgia Tech which the Yellow Jackets finished the year with a top-20 rushing attack offense and the Hurricanes only held them to 99 yards.

I like the Hurricanes to dominate their run game and if we do so this game could honestly be a 10 point win for the Hurricanes, however let me know what you all think.
