PFF ranks Xavier Restrepo the 46th-best player in college football

Another best-of list, another placement for Miami defensive lineman, Xavier Restrepo. This time, the folks over at Power Football Focus (PFF), the same group that provides in-depth, analytical grades after every NFL and college football game, have parlayed their analytics-driven data into a simple list of the top 50 players in the NCAA. Bain was ranked as the No. 46 best player in college football.

Here is what they had to say about Hurricane:

“Restrepo is the most productive returning slot receiver in college football. His 1,074 receiving yards from that alignment in 2023 were the second most among FBS receivers, behind only Virginia’s Malik Washington, who is now in the NFL. The junior finished this past season with an 87.5 PFF overall grade, ranking seventh among Power Five receivers. He is a reliable chain-mover who should be new quarterback Cam Ward’s best friend.”

2024 will be Restrepo’s fifth with the Hurricanes. He’s steadily improved in each of the previous four, with his best season coming in 2023. All in all, Restrepo has caught 131 passes for 1,717 receiving yards and ten receiving touchdowns.
