Report: Miami Hurricanes Emerging As A Contender For UCLA Transfer QB Dante Moore

Will the Miami Hurricanes land the second year signal caller and former top recruit?

Most of the reported quarterback options for the Miami Hurricanes have been graduate transfer veterans like Washington State’s Cam Ward and Kansas State’s Will Howard

However, the Hurricanes are also being linked to a young star with three years of eligibility remaining.

According to a report from On3’s Chad Simmons, Moore and the Ducks have been in extensive contact, and there is a good chance that the former 5-star recruit will take a visit to Eugene later this week or this weekend to check things out.

Moore is also expected to visit Michigan, Ohio State, and Miami, per Simmons

.Moore and his father have both mentioned that development is more important for Dante than starting immediately. It’s possible that Miami could try to land Moore in addition to an established veteran.

Miami was active in recruiting Moore out of Martin Luther King HS in Detroit, before he ultimately landed at UCLA. He was a 5-Star recruit in the class of 2023 and the second ranked quarterback. He was verbally committed to Oregon before flipping to UCLA last December.

Moore appeared in 9 games for the UCLA Bruins this season. He completed 53.5 percent of his passing attempts for 1,610 yards with 11 touchdowns and 9 interceptions.

Simmons noted in his report that Moore plans to make his final decision by January and will enroll in his next school for the spring semester.
