RUMOR: Miami could possible flip Armondo Blount Back to Miami

Armondo Blount committed to the Miami Hurricanes in the 2023 season, about two weeks ago Blount decided to part away with the 2025 Miami Hurricanes recruiting class to reclassified to the 2024 class and, he flip his commitment to the University of Florida State. And now Miami could get him back to Miami? The rumor was first reported by CanesCounty.

A product of Miami Central High School, just more than 10 miles from Miami’s Coral Gables campus, the 6-foot-4, 250-pound Blount has 32 tackles, 10 tackles for loss and 8 sacks through five games this season.

“The FSU coaches, they told me they were ready to break me [down] to get me better, so I’m looking forward to it,” he said.

He does have close touches with the FSU staff, he specifically mentioned associate head coach/defensive tackles coach Odell Haggins, who has been part of the Seminoles football program for 30 years, as a big selling point.

However, I would never count out Miami Hurricanes defensive line coach Jason Taylor, cause he is a NFL HOF, and who would not want to be coach by one of the greatest.

Armondo Blount Scouting Summary

“Armondo Blount- Versatile, athletic defensive lineman who is capable of creating disruption from any spot on the defensive front. Looks like one of the more physically-gifted defenders early on in the 2025 cycle. Measured in at close to 6-foot-3.5, 250 pounds with a wing-span around 6-foot-9 and a 10-inch hand at Under Armour’s Miami camp prior to his junior season. Tests as an outstanding athlete, running an electronically-timed 4.78-second 40-yard dash, along with an impressive 30-inch vertical and 9’7” broad jump. Has the size of a future defensive tackle but the athleticism and pass rush skills of a top EDGE prospect.
