Shannon Dawson talks about how he’s going to be prepared for A&M week after an easy win against a MAC Miami (Ohio) team.
Shannon Dawson takes the podium:
Shannon Dawson is at the podium now. On who he thinks stood out against Miami (OH): “Our running back group looked pretty good to me…we had some receivers make plays…it was one of those games where they were playing coverage, kind of begging us to run the ball…”
Shannon Dawson on RB Don Chaney, Jr.: “He’s been showing that in camp. He’s been competing, he looks really good…he’s taking advantage of his reps… that room has got some stacked talent in it, so everybody’s fighting for reps.”
Shannon Dawson, on RB Mark Fletcher, Jr. “He’s different. He’s hard to tackle. He’s built for that position…he can run the distance. He’s a special player. We’re glad to have him.”
Shannon Dawson, on the level of opponent they’ll face this week in Texas A&M: “Kids know. They watch film.”
Tyler Van Dyke’s interception Friday, Shannon Dawson said, “That’s as much my fault as it is his.” Dawson said he was itching to throw the ball deep on Friday.
Shannon Dawson on Colbie Young screen play: He’s a tough guy to bring down, He’s a big physical kid that can run. That {Touchdown} was an elite play by him…he caught a couple hitch routes where he probably should have gotten 5 yards, but he got 12.”
Shannon Dawson on Emory Williams and Jacurri Brown: “Ultimately, I have four games to play with both of them, so I’m going to be very strategic” with how he plays them.
