Takeaways From Mark Fletcher Talking About Miami And The UF Rivalry On A Podcast

The Miami Hurricanes star running back Mark fletcher joined a podcast Wednesday afternoon on the Momentum Podcast on YouTube and here are three takeaways from the podcast that I had that I think I should share to my Hurricanes family.

Mark Fletcher was asked about the intensity of the offseason workouts at Miami being different with Florida in Week 1 and he said:

“Honestly, they’re not focused on it at all. I don’t think they’ll be focused on it until, and I’m not saying we’ve been working our off, just been working, grinding, but that’s just what we did. That’s what we’re doing regardless. They won’t be worried about that game until we’re game planning for that game. That’s when we’re locked in on Florida. Right now, we’re just working, grinding, chopping wood.”

He also was ask who does he workout with and Fletcher said:

“I will work out with my old head coach at Heritage, but I’m still battling any injuries, so I’m just in the treatment room every day working out. That’s what I’m doing right now.”

Fletcher was asked what was the toughest place to play at Miami, and he said:

“NC State was the toughest environment I played in last year at Miami.”

Fletcher on Damien Martinez:

Mark Fletcher texted Martinez this: “I need you at Miami with me” and fully embraces Learning from him. Also takes on a recruiting role for high school kids”

Fletcher’s 83.9 overall PFF grade was the highest among Miami’s running back room. He also led Miami’s backfield with an 84.9 rushing grade and led his position group with seven catches for 62 yards.
