Talk CanesToday: Kyshawn George is a Pro, the NBA Draft Continues

Good morning my Miami Hurricanes family! the sun is shining and there is a new pro in town.

Kyshawn George was the first off the board at No. 24 overall to the Washington Wizards.

Kyshawn George drafted by the Washington Wizards

Kyshawn George is headed to Washington. With the No. 24 pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, the Wizards selected the 6-foot-7 guard out of Miami to make Miami its fifth only player to get drafted out of the first round.

Kyshawn always makes the right play at the right time when he played for Miami, he also took care of the ball well. He’s starting to figure out how to leverage his size in mismatches on both ends of the floor.

He ended up averaging 7.6 points per game to go along with 3.0 rebound and 2.2 assist per game, he also had a career high against Wake Forest with 21 points.

Miami lands new 2025 commitment

The dice are hot for Mario Cristobal and the Hurricanes, Miami adding yet another commitment on a major recruiting month in Coral Gables, this time in 2025 inside offensive lineman Max Buchanan.

The 6-foot-4, 275-pound offensive line from Sanford (Fla. announced on social media his pledge to Miami. He committed to the Canes over many top schools in the country such as  Florida State, Ole Miss, Penn State and more.
