Talk CanesToday: NBA Draft Day, Kyshawn George named top-10 three-point shooter in draft, Miami trending four 4-star edge, and more

Ahh good morning my Hurricanes family! It’s officially NBA Draft day, the first of its kind with the league implementing a new two-day model starting this year, one that begins with round one on Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET followed by round two on Thursday at 4 p.m. ET.

Lets waste no more time and lets start out with Kyshawn George being listed as a top shooter in the draft tonight

Kyshawn George ranked top-10 best shooter in the draft

Kyshawn George was named into a top-10 best three-point shooters in the 2024 NBA Draft and that made him have a higher draft stock with him being listed at No. 9 best shooter in the draft.

The Raptors are interested in adding the three-point star to their team and so are other teams but that is where they have him going according to many sites.

George led Miami regulars in three-point percentage with him shooting 40.8%.

Kyshawn was invited to the NBA Draft Green Room where he would wait until his name gets called in Brooklyn, George will be able to have six people come with him to the draft, the first round will take place in Brooklyn at Barclays Center.

Miami trending for four-star edge Herbert Scroggins

2025 Miami Hurricanes defensive end target Herbert Scroggins was set to commit this week, but after taking an official to Miami, he announced on social media that he has decided to postpone his commitment to a later date.

Now after that visit and why he postponed was probably cause of Miami, all the momentum from Auburn has shifted all to Miami. They must of really showed him what a priority he would be in at Miami and how he could fit in at Miami.

I do expect the Hurricanes to land Herbert in the next couple of days.

There will be more posted on him thru out the day on the site so stay tune.

Miami Basketball lands as a No. 9 seed in latest ESPN bracketology

As the month of drew to a close, Miami is trending the same as they were in May on Lunardi’s 2025 NCAA Tournament projections. However, he views the Hurricanes as a No. 8 seed right now, a step back from the No. 6 seed Miami that he had them projected in April.

Checking in as an 8-seed in the Midwest Region (Indianapolis) with a first-round matchup against 9-seed of the Memphis Tigers, and a possible second-round showdown with first-seeded Kansas.

There is a reason that these are called “way to early” for a reason there will still be major tweaks added to other college teams and the Hurricanes but right now Lunardi has the Hurricanes a top 68 team.
