Today on CT: Big recruiting weekend coming up, Peach Jam, and Jordan Miller

Good morning, folks! We’ve got a fun day in the works for you all. We will be talking about the big recruiting weekend coming up however the Canes have been quiet with this 10-day marathon. We will cover on how the Peach Jam went in South Carolina and Jordan Miller’s success in the NBA.

Lets start with the big time recruiting weekend today.

HUGE recruiting weekend for the Canes with predictions

Floyd Boucard will commit tomorrow at 4:30 p.m. ET, Miami was seen as a leader coming into the month of July, however the Oklahoma Sooners really did shake things up in his recruitment and I think they will have a great chance in landing the three-star defensive lineman.

Prediciton: Oklahoma

Cortez Smith a inside offensive lineman that commits tomorrow as well that Miami has been trying and trying to push for this kid after a recent official to Miami, however the Georgia Bulldogs is really far ahead and Miami really would have to do something special to flip him out of the Bulldogs.

Prediction: Georgia

A kid that I do think the Canes get is 2025 four-star cornerback Jaboree Antione which commits July 21, he recently decommitted from LSU after a visit to Miami. I think the Hurricanes are in the lead for him as of right now but FSU has added a late push to him so we will see where he goes on his commitment day but Miami does have a lead.

Prediction: Miami

Another local kid the Hurricanes been wanting and needing on the roster is Vernell Brown which commits July 21, Brown is one of the fastest players in the country as he also excels at track, however I do think the Florida Gators are the team to beat in this one.

Prediction: Florida

Jordan Miller balling in the Summer League

Miller just casually finished with 23 points as he led the Clippers with points, he also added four rebounds.

Miller is really putting a name for himself as his second year in the NBA. This year I think this is where Miller will show that he is a legit forward and will get playing time in the NBA.

From his first NBA summer league game this year Miller shined in the Clips’ Summer League opener, filling up the stat sheet. The 24-year-old had a highly efficient 36-point performance against the Nuggets, shooting 60% from the field. In his second summer league game he finished with a great 21 points.

Who is the Miami coaches watching at the Peach Jam

The open evaluation period is here as AAU tournaments are underway again including the popular Nike EYBL Peach Jam. The event takes place each Summer, usually spanning over a week.

For Miami, Jim Larranaga and staff members were in North Augusta, South Carolina for the event to watch some recruits. And they had their eyes on a top target on their 2025 recruiting board.

The staff was there and watched four-star guard Jerry Easter which he really showed out, he is the No. 35 overall recruit in the national 2025 class, headlines our recap after a tremendous 31-point performance to get the juices flowing.

The Hurricanes coaching staff also watched  Isaiah Denis, who scored 12 points on 3-of-13 shooting with two rebounds and three assists.

The staff was also on the watch for four-star center Tee Bartlett play for SFG, which lost 72-60 to Ohio Buckets.

And of course the coaches staff was definitely there to watched both of the Boozer twins as in Cameron and Cayden Boozer.
