Good morning Hurricanes nation the sun is rising and it is bout to be a great day! Miami football is bout to get set for game week versus the Florida Gators tomorrow! And there is some NFL preseason games on tonight! We have a lot to recap and preview so let’s get into this!
We will start with what a crazy night in college football.
FSU falls to Georgia Tech
Should the 2024 ACC season unfold in a manner reminiscent of the Week 0 opener between Florida State and Georgia Tech in Dublin, spectators of college football are poised for an exhilarating journey.
Aidan Birr successfully converted a 44-yard field goal as the clock ran out, securing a victory for the Yellow Jackets with a score of 24–21 against the No. 10 Seminoles. Brent Key, embarking on his third season as the head coach of Georgia Tech, achieved a significant triumph over a top-10 opponent and the favored team in the ACC.
4-star RB Byron Louis sets commitment date; Miami included to his top four schools
Four-star American Heritage running back Bryon Louis has put the Miami Hurricanes in his top four schools has he just scheduled his commitment date to September 21st.
Louis is recognized as the 193rd overall prospect for the Class of 2025, ranking first among running backs and 27th overall in the talent-rich state of Florida, as per the 247Sports composite ranking.
Miami holds a significant bond with the back, as the Hurricanes are a prominent contender in his recruitment. However, the Canes will be competing against Georgia, Florida State, and Wisconsin, all of whom are interested in securing the four-star back.
Miami and Florida State along with Georgia are seen as the biggest threats in his recruitment, but I also would not count out Wisconsin.
Miami Basketball will host Saint Leo in exhibition
On today’s CT, Miami broke the news that Miami will host the Saint Leo Fritz, on Friday, October 30 at the Watsco Center.
Oddly enough the Canes actually played them previously and was beaten by them in 2012 in a upset of 69-to-67.
Spencer Henke, the esteemed head coach, was appointed as the Interim Head Men’s Basketball Coach for the 2024-25 season in May of 2024. This prestigious position was assumed following his tenure as an assistant coach under the esteemed leadership of Lance Randall from 2020 to 2024.
The fact they have the series record on us shows this should be a must-watch, however we should not be worried to lose this one.
Desmond Howard forecasts Miami to be in the 12-team College Football Playoffs
Football is officially back today as College GameDay was live from Dublin yesterday to watch Florida State and Georgia Tech. Desmond Howard on GameDay put the Hurricanes on his 12-team College Football Playoff lineup.
