Trinton’s 3 Keys to Victory for Miami Vs Miami of Ohio
Before every Miami football game this season CanesToday.com publisher Trinton Breeze will share his three keys to a Hurricane victory. This week Miami faces off against Miami (Ohio) for the week one season opener in Hard Rock.
Key 1 – Finish drives on offense: The Hurricanes struggled heavily in the red-zone last season, and even though that was mostly due to Gattis and his poor play calling, we have to show we can march down the field and put-up touchdowns. Especially, against a MAC team.
Key 2 – Win the field position battle: We have a freshman punter Dylan Joyce and want to see him pin them deep, if we have to punt. Also, I want to see a lot of action for this punt returns and kick returns unit , I want to see this special team’s unit going off this Friday.
Key 3 – Get lots of pressure and sacks: I want this defensive line to stay up in Brett Gabberts grill all night long. He’s honestly not that bad of a quarterback, but we are hyping this defensive line up quite a bit. We got guys like Leonard Taylor, Rueben “Hurricane” Bain, Akheem Mesidor, Nyjalik Kelly, Branson Dean and etc. We should and need to show a lot of pressure and sacks in this game on Friday.

In addition to a pass rush the DL needs to shut down the Miami(Ohio) rushing attack. The 2022 DL (& LBs) failed to stop the run and caused the DBs to creep up to help against the run and allowed chunk passing plays.
