Two Miami prospects that Miami can close in on this week

The Miami Hurricanes coaching staff and the fans will have one of the biggest weeks ahead and it already started with on Monday afternoon Gavin Nix making his pledge to Miami, now there is two more prospects I do expect the Hurricanes to land and secure by this week.

2026 QB Dereon Coleman (announces July 3)

I expect the Hurricanes to four-star quarterback Dereon Coleman out of Orlando (FL) Jones high school.

He told me that he will commit on his birthday tomorrow on July 3rd and Miami is the headline in his recruitment ahead of his decision date.

He is the No. 301 overall player in the 2026 247 Ratings and top-50 player in Florida, Shannon Dawson can have a chance to locked up one of the top targets on Miami’s high school recruiting board.

2025 SS Hylton Stubbs (announces July 4)

Another big time headline after four-star safety Hylton Stubbs decommited from the university of Southern California, is that he will land at Miami and I could say that I expect so to after he visited Miami it truly does seem like all directions are landing in Coral Gables.

He is a 6-foot-2, 175-pounder is the No. 49 overall prospect in the 2025 class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, he also ranks as the nation’s No. 4 safety and No. 6 recruit in Florida.

Stubbs helped his high school Mandarin each Florida’s 4M title game where he recorded 97 tackles (8.5 TFL), 6 Interceptions, 6 pass breakups, 2 forced fumbles, 3 fumbles recovered and 2.5 sacks. The four-star also totaled 84 tackles and 2 interceptions in 2022.

Recruitment is heating up so keep up with CanesToday.com to get the latest news on the Hurricanes.
