Tyler Van Dyke in the Portal is that a good thing?
Fourth-year junior quarterback Tyler Van Dyke stands for the Alma Mater after Miami’s 38-3 win over Miami (OH) at Hard Rock Stadium on Sept. 1, 2023.

Quarterback Tyler Van Dyke or Miami fans did call him when he was doing good in games “Tyler Van Dimes” made the right decision in going into the 2023-24 Transfer Portal, and Miami really needed it.

First off, Tyler Van Dyke is a amazing and awesome player, he is not selfish, never blames his own teammates, and he is always been humble. But, Van Dyke struggled as a redshirt sophomore compared to his ACC rookie of the year accolades in 2021 when he threw for 2,931 yards and 25 touchdowns, but Miami convinced him to stay.

Now, Van Dyke hopes for a fresh start elsewhere as the guy within an offense that caters to his skill set as a pocket passer and pro-style body.

We love our player at Miami and wish them great success at the NFL or other schools. But, I am no concered about guys leaving, we went 12-12 the last two seasons with these guys, it’s time for new blood. Tyler Van Dyke 15-13 as a starter, not to great. Hope all do well but let’s call a spade a spade.

Van Dyke finished his Miami career going 581-of-912 passing for 7,478 yards, 54 touchdowns and 23 interceptions, plus 32 rushing yards and two scores. We hope him the best but like I said this really did not hurt us as a team if we could go get someone out the portal.
