WATCH: Mario Cristobal’s’ Monday Press Conference (A&M Week)

Mario Cristobal was all business in his Monday press conference following Miami season-opener win vs. Miami (Ohio). Mario Cristobal opened up the press conference thanking the fans for coming out to the Miami (Ohio) game, and is looking to see all the fans pack the house this week against A&M.

Here is what Mario said in his interview today:

Mario Cristobal on how to stop the A&M pass rush: Mario Cristobal – “There big up front, there talented those are athletic guys, they move their feet well, there heavy handed. They got a really good run game”.

Mario Cristobal, on the 1983 national championship team, which will be honored at Saturday’s game: “I think they made Hurricanes fans out of all of us…they inspired so many after that to become Miami Hurricanes and inspired fans across the community and the country.”

Mario Cristobal on C Matt Lee: “Matt Lee played well. That was the expectation, watching him on film…He’s practiced extremely hard, was a representative for us at media days…the fact he played well is no surprise…”

Mario Cristobal on the play of LB Francisco Mauigoa: “He’s relentless. He plays fearless, throws his body around…pinpoint accurate in his assignments…a tremendous nose for the ball. He’s a great leader.

Mario Cristobal on Canes RBs Ajay Allen and Mark Fletcher, Jr. “They performed well, all the backs did…they played with really good discipline and really good ball security…those guys did a really good job. They really did.”

Mario Cristobal on WR Colbie Young: “He’s a fast guy…He worked on his speed, his initial quickness more than anything this offseason…He’s a really good wide receiver and I think his hard work in the offseason has really paid off…”
