What we know heading into Miami vs. Florida A&M

Week 2 has arrived in college football. In the Sunshine State, Miami will host a certain HBCU in-state school for the third time in history. The Hurricanes are hoping that the meeting this year with FAMUU is a game that has a little more cushion on the scoreboard.

Let’s take one final look back at this week to see what we learned about the upcoming matchup.

The offensive line is special

The Hurricane’s offensive line was special and was making holes for the running back and giving Cam Ward all the time in the world versus the Florida Gators, and the line led to some great plays for the Canes.

Cam Ward was sitting in the backfield long enough to deliver some unbelievable balls to the receivers.

FAMU has major rush defense problems

FAMU’s defense performed poorly in the first two games and is anticipated to struggle in the upcoming game. In their game against the Norfolk State Spartans, it was evident that their rush defense was lacking. The Spartans’ running back, Kevon King, managed to rush for 146 yards with just 14 carries, scoring two touchdowns.

Miami should put some big numbers on the Hard Rock Stadium scoreboards on Saturday night under the lights.

Daniel Richardson can play

Although quarterback Jeremy Moussa and running back Terrell Jennings have departed, there are still compelling reasons to have confidence in FAMU’s offense. Notably, former FAU signal-caller Daniel Richardson, one of the transfers who joined the offense this offseason, has recently been announced as the Rattlers’ starter, bringing a wealth of talent and promise to the team.

When it comes to Daniel, his stats from the first game speak volumes. In a thrilling showdown against Norfolk State, he led the Rattlers to an incredible comeback victory from a 14-0 deficit. Richardson’s performance was nothing short of spectacular, completing 22 of 30 passes for 286 yards and three touchdowns.
