Where does Miami stand with 4-star LB Chris Cole coming off of a visit to Miami

Miami Hurricanes 2024 recruiting class currently ranks No. 23 in the 2024 On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings and No. 3 in the ACC. The Hurricanes group is led by two top-150 recruits in Northport ( AL ) four-star running-back Kevin Riley and Fort Lauderdale ( FL ) four-star wide receiver Chance Robinson.

Miami just hosted one of there biggest recruiting weekends they will have for a while and one of those big recruits was Chris Cole. Cole is the No. 188 overall prospect and No. 20 linebacker in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Rankings, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. The 6-foot-3, 210-pound recruit took an official visit to Miami last weekend.

He holds offer from Notre Dame, Georgia, Alabama, Miami, USC, Florida, Penn State, FSU, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Auburn, Nebraska, Arkansas, Stanford, Maryland, Louisville, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Northwestern, West Virginia, Vanderbilt, Cincinnati, Syracuse, and Duke is all the power five offers Cole got.

As a junior at Salem High School in Salem, Virginia he made an transition from defensive back to linebacker. Helped Salem go 10-3 and reach Virginia’s Region 4D final. He totaled 76 tackles with 11 of those coming for a loss. He also competes in track and field he finished 4th at Nike Indoor National in the 60-meter hurdles and 6th in the 55-meter hurdles so this kid is a true demon on the field and the track.

Now where does Miami stand with Chris Cole. He is the No. 3 player in Virginia. According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, Virginia Tech is leading for Cole’s commitment at 35.2% with Penn State begin 13.0% and Georgia begin 11.1% and finally Miami begin 7.5% to get a commitment out of Cole. But coming off this visit last weekend at Coral Gables I think Miami made up some pretty good ground on Coles recruitment, and Miami will have a chance to get a commitment from Cole in the near future.
