BREAKING: Oregon State RB Damien Martinez Commits To Miami

Mario Cristobal and Miami Hurricanes football has just snagged one of the best running backs available in the transfer portal with adding the addition of Oregon State starting running back Damien Martinez.

TreVonte Citizen is gone, Miami is down to five scholarship running backs. But, due to some injuries Mark Fletcher is being reported that he would be a game time decision heading into the Florida game, and Ajay Allen is also a little bit banged up that mainly leaves us to four scholarship players that is healthy.

The Hurricanes have struggled to maintain a healthy running back room in each of the last two years but with Miami adding Martinez say if he does go down Miami will have some experienced backs to back him up.

Out of high school he was only a three-star and the No. 35 running back in the country, but he has already surpassed all expectations!

Martines had an amazing true freshman season where he ran for 982 yards and seven touchdowns. He then took it up another notch last season as a sophomore, running for 1,185 yards and nine touchdowns. Those 1,185 yards was enough for 24th best in the country. He was also involved in the passing game, catching 11 passes for an additional 126 yards.

An impressive sophomore campaign came after his freshman year of 982 yards and seven touchdowns. Despite not being the most sought-after recruit coming out of high school, Martinez hit the ground running and had been a productive player for Oregon State for two seasons.

So what do you all think about this pickup by the Miami Hurricanes coaching staff? And like we always do , welcome him to Miami!
